Hope for HIE is a non-profit on a mission to improve the quality of life in children and families affected by HIE (hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy) through support, education, and awareness. They have a vision of increasing the incidence and impact of HIE globally.
HIE (hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy) is a brain injury that occurs when your brain doesn’t get enough blood and oxygen. This can permanently change how your brain functions. HIE usually affects newborns who had a difficult birth, but it can also affect older children and adults who experience severe respiratory distress.
When we met Betsy Pilon, the Executive Director at Hope for HIE, she was fulfilling kits for families and hospitals out of her garage. She had been shopping around and was disappointed that many fulfillment companies had expensive warehousing and kitting fees.
We learned about the importance of getting the kits to the families and hospitals and proposed a partnership that would work for Bundled + Hope for HIE. We now warehouse, kit, fulfill and ship for them, quickly getting resources to families with babies who have been diagnosed with HIE.
